Itenerary
The Plays
Eight top professional theatre productions will be selected by the professional theatre team of The London Theatre Forum, Richard Hampton and Jenny Oulton. Seven of the shows will be in London's famed West End Theatre district and one will be part of a one day out-of-town experience at either Stratford Upon-Avon or Chichester. Some of the plays will be new plays, some great classics, and some revivals. Excellent seating will be available for all of the plays.
The Day Out of London
We will have a one-day guided coach trip out of London, either to Chichester, a historical southern coastal town, or to Stratford Upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. We will stop along the way to tour another historic location, and then continue on to our destination for dinner in a fine restaurant before attending an excellent production. We will return to London following the show.
Other Events
Our group will have tea with one of London’s top theatre critics to discuss the shows we will be seeing as part of the tour package. The critic will also recommend additional shows that we may wish to see. On the first full day we are in London, there will be a half-day guided tour of some the city’s outstanding sights. In addition, there will be guided tours and, possibly, the opportunity to meet with a theatre personality. There will be other events scheduled for the group. However, there will be lots of free time for sightseeing, shopping and attending additional theatre productions almost every day.
The second weekend will be left free for those who wish to take trips outside of London to places such as Scotland, Wales, or cross the channel to the continent. For those who stay in London, there is Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens and Greenwich, as well as several famous street markets that you can visit.
